After a hiatus, I have decided to bring this site back as a Tumblr site. This old blogger hosted site will be using the webofgoodnews.blogspot.com domain, but will not be updated anymore (the RSS feeds in the sidebar update automatically though). Airbnb, NYC Partner to Offer Free Housing to Sandy Victims

The City of New York has teamed up with Airbnb to help connect residents displaced by Hurricane Sandy with housing in the region.

In a blog post, Airbnb said its community has "already spontaneously come together to provide discounted places to stay for people in need." There have been more than 2,500 last-minute bookings in areas hit by Sandy, with 4,000 guests provided shelter. But now, the company is allowing members to offer up their properties for free to Sandy victims.
